Mr. Charles Armstrong

Me Armstong is a native Missourian, born in St. Louis. He attended Kickapoo High School and SMSU in Springfield. Graduated in 1979 with a BS in Math and Physics (minor in Astronomy). He started work at NASA immediately after graduation. Received an MS in Space Physics from the University of Houston in 1993. During his career he has been an EVA (Extravehicular Activity - Space Walk) flight controller and crew trainer, a Russian Interface Operator (they were the point of contact between the US and Russian Control Centers during the Shuttle-Mir flights), ISS display requirements lead, Deputy Manager for Mission and Flight Operations Integration for the Orbital Space Plan Program, and is currently on Staff to the Return to Flight Task Group which is responsible for assessing NASA's compliance with the Columbia Accident Investigation Board's return-to-flight recommendations.
