Imaging in Alt-Az can be limiting even on some of the bigger, brighter objects. I never did get an image I was happy with of M31 in Alt-Az. Here's an image of the Andromeda Galaxy I took last night 10-15-10 with a half moon up with my system wedge-mounted. Used the Orion Moon and Skyglow filter and Astro-tech Field Flattener. Imaged with the Explore Scientific 80mm APO, guided by a Meade DSI in the 10" LX200 at F6.3. 91-2 minute light frames, 25 dark frames and 50 flat frames. Processed in Images Plus 3.8.
