9/8/2011 2:16:59 PM The Propeller Galaxy (NGC 7479) is located in Pegasus around 105Mly distant. A relatively recent minor merger has caused the Propeller to rotate anti-clockwise & starbursts are being observed in the outer arms & nucleus. It has an apparent magnitude of 11.6 and measures only 4.1 X 3.1 arc min. I processed about 8 hours of LRGB data to create this image.
