9/15/2010 2:11:54 PM NGC7469 & its smaller companion IC5283 are merging galaxies in Pegasus. They are some 200 mly away, so I'm pushing the envelope with my equuipment & location. I think I'll try something a little closer next time.

9/8/2010 12:16:46 AM It's been a while since I posted an image. Here's M17, the Swan Nebula (AKA the Omega Nebula) taken on 7-10-10 with my Meade 10" LX200 ACF Scope w/.63 focal reducer (1575mm focal length). This image has 33 light frames (40 seconds each), 25 darks and 25 flats. Processed in Images Plus 3.80 and post processed in Photoshop CS4

This image is 67 of 80 frames captured Sunday night (9/5/10) of Labor Day weekend with a modified Canon 40D through a Celestron Nexstar 11 with Hyperstar on a Losmandy CG-11 mount. It is a crop of the center of a wider FOV

John Moody http://panthercreekastro.mysite.com 9/6/2010 10:04:26 PM The Elephant Trunk portion of IC1396. This was shot on Friday night (9/3/10) of Labor Day weekend. 67 of 80 subs, 90 seconds each with Canon 40D, Celestron Nexstar 11 & Hyperstar on Losmandy CG-11. This is a 100% resolution crop of the much wider FOV I captured. This actually IS IC1396 as opposed to the previous pic where I clicked on the wrong file!

8/23/2010 10:23:33 AM The Blue Flash PLN (NGC 6905) is a small planetary nebula located in Delphinus. Its blue color stands out well, but the structural details are difficult to observe or photograph. Here is my attempt to capture The Blue Flash. The LRGB cropped image was taken with a Meade 14" LX200ACF & SBIG camera at Journey's End Observatory located in Walnut Grove, MO.
