3/5/2010 4:56:45 PM Open Cluster M46 is about 5,500 ly distant. The small foreground object is planetary nebula - NGC2438 & is not associated with M46. The PLN is about 2,900 ly away.

3/9/2009 4:49:34 PM M1 shot through narrowband filters and mapped to the Hubble Pallet. Ha=Green/SII=Red/OIII=Blue. The nebulosity of M1 reveals more details & structure when the ionized gases are revealed in this false color image. My first attempt at NB, thanks for looking.
